Just a quick post! I’ve been listening to a lot of old skool Christina Aguilera today, mainly her album ‘Stripped’. She actively encourages men to objectify her, yet her song ‘Can’t Hold Us Down’ has some really empowering lyrics. On one hand she’s being a fantastic role model, but on the other she’s saying to young girls that men are just going to objectify them and they should put up with it. Does anyone have any more thoughts on this?
